First of all let me thank everybody for reading and commenting on this
column and I want you to know that your responses are not edited out because you disagree with me, in fact, far from it.

But Bruce is being accused of playing favorites in what he allows and
disallows to appear in the comment section. Bruce is not playing favorites at all, he's only going by the ground rules and for those of you who don't know here they are.

1. I will not have my readers subjected to foul language. It's just as easy
to write your opinions without the garbage.

2.  We will not allow personal vendettas to be carried on in this column. If
you want to insult somebody do it on their private address.

3.  We do not advertise products and events unless it's something I write
about in the soapbox.

4.  Threats to anyone are promptly turned over to the F.B.I.

This column and forum is intended to promote ideas and opinions, pro or con and email responses are only edited for the causes listed above.

Charlie, let me put it this way. As we say down here in South Texas, "Bruce is a 'jam-up and jelly-roll guy"...AND we are lucky to have him and so are you.

LOL, these are probably the best forum rules I've ever seen. Clear and concise, yeah!

Adding (or repeating) to all that other's have said, thanks for supporting the troops and God Bless.

Dear Mr. Daniels...

The above "rules and regs" is exactly why I asked to join.  Thank you, and thank Bruce, for allowing me to become a new member. We are looking forward to seeing you in Salina on the 15th of December!  [It's my belated birthday present from my husband!]

Carry on!

They are very clear and concise but you and I both know that simplicity confuses certain people; and unless this certain group is forced to deal with the complexities of long drawn out rules ladened with double speak they won't understand it! (LOL)

Charlie,

I agree with you on this Charlie. So many other websites has things like back-biting, foul language etc.  Thank you Charlie.

And Broose is one cool dude in my book.:D

Longtime reader, first time poster.

I have been a moderator, global moderator, editor, co-editor, and administrator on various forums over the years.

While I enjoyed it, it's generally a thankless job, so a big thumbs-up for the mods and admins here for trying to keep a pleasant environment.  :D

A fine example of what a message board is all about....and the way it should be. Rules are clear and simple and I doubt anyone will misunderstand them.

A privilege for me to join. Thank you!

Thanks for letting me join.  It is a privilege.  I am looking forward to partaking of the fruit of common sense for the next 6 or so months.  I was beginning to despair at the thought of the relentless bombardment we are all faced with until election day.  "The sky is falling!  The sky is falling!"  Then, miraculously, election day comes.  The sun shines once again and forevermore.

For the record, I have been on blogs in the past that either didn't have good rules/guidelines or they were being ignored and it wasn't fun at all!  There was often foul language (bleeped out) and people got incredibly nasty with each other.

I agree with the rules of the Soapbox and Message Board.  They keep this place from becoming like that blog.  Keep up the good work, and thanks Charlie for the reminder!!;)

I am a new member and appreciate the opportunity to express opinions other than that of the liberal press. I was listening to a radio program yesterday and one of the callers stated that wind energy is only about 30% effective and needs backup at 90-100% for those times  when the wind is not blowing. Those back-ups happen to be fossil fuel. I have no issue if people want to find alternative sources of energy but let's use what God gave us before another country does. China and India aren't "reducing their carbon footprints" yet our lovely Hollywood leadership gets on their bandwagons to tell us to use special lightbulbs and electric cars whil owning numerous homes and large planes. Seems to be just a little bit of hypocricy. There is also another pont brought up on that same program.... if we all buy electric cars they need to be plugged in to charge the batteries what would even half the country plugging in their cars at the same time do to the overall powergrid?

Than you Charlie for your site and the voice of someone that uses your brain cells.

God bless you and our troops.

Ardis

Thanks for the privilidge of being able to join. I've already posted on other topics but thought I ought to say thanks on this one as well. I love your patriotism and faith which you express so well in your music. It's sad that your appearance in Poplar Bluff on Nov.21 at the Black River Colloseum had to be cancelled for lack of ticket sales. The price of tickets wasn't that bad but we're in tough times economically I guess.

Mr. Daniels, I've been reading your essays for a couple of years, or is it three or four years?  Dang, time does fly, especially for us greybeards.  <G>

As a new member of your forum, I want to thank you first for so many decades of dang good music, and second for your rock solid, conservative, patriotic, analyses of how to 'fix' the USA's problems.  God, Family, & Country...it doesn't get any more basic for a path to success.

God Bless you and yours.

I think that with out Rules or Ground Rules everyone would say they are the ones in control or they say they are right, with out the Rules there be now Guideness and every one would think they could do what ever they please and this would not be a very good place to come to, I think in everything there got to be a little Guidenss or rules witch makes it fun and a more better place to come too.

Hey Charlie,

It's an old friend checking up on you.  Hope your year is off to a great start.  I looked over the tour schedule and you will be near me a few times, so I will try to come see ya.

I am running a branch campus of Western New Mexico University in Truth or Consequences.  We are struggling to create more space and more technology for our students here.  This is a way different role for me, being an administrator but I am learning.

Ty is doing well.  We have about 9 acres outside of town in a very beautiful valley.  Life is good.  I think of you often and all our fun times back in the day.

fafhrd54,

One way to send a PM  / Private Message is to click on the person's username at the left beside of their posts.

A pop up will have a place to click on and send a PM.

You can also have a list of memebers in your PM section.

I'm sending you one now,( it's this exact post) just look up near the top of the page and you will see you have it, just click on that and it will take you to your PM section.

Read it and hit reply to let me know you got it.

Then put a check in the box and click delete and it's gone.

It won't take you long to know the features, but to be honest I am still learning too.:)

Look things over, I don't think there is anything you are going to break.:)

Duke

Thank you for allowing me to join in a discussion with THE REAL AMERICAN PATRIOTS! Thank you Charlie for the work you do with our troops. Thank YOU for the clear rules. Seems the government could take some lessons from them. The bill written to create the interstate highways was about 20 pages long. SIMPLE. Can anyone IMAGINE how many loopholes will be in a Gov. ran healtcare plan thats over 1000 pages?

Psalms 34:6 This poor man cried, the Lord heard him and SAVED him out of all his troubles.

Thank You Charlie for all you do for our troops and the message you spread across the country. I saw you with Sean Hannity and think it is great how some with great success take the time to give back. You both greatly deserve all your success. I wrote a poem based on a story from my youth and it's relevance to todays politics. Iwould be greatly flattered if I knew you had read it. It is on the message board under revmuck. Keep up the great work and again thank you for your support of the troops. Don

Welcome Kristin

For the fan club link, go to the top of the page on this message Board and click "Home". That takes you to the main page where everything is listed from fan club site info to photographs to discography and lyrics. The Fan Club is run by Ms Ginger Ambrose of Lebanon and a nicer lady you won't find. Good Luck and enjoy.

Charlie -I hope you are feeling better... wishing you a rapid recovery;  God speed!  Also, can you tell me what organization you donated to for Haiti? I want to donate too, but have not done so as of yet, because I want to ensure the donation gets in the proper hands.  Thank you! Love ya!  Angela (spiritangel718@hotmail.com).

Hello, I am a new member that just discovered the Soapbox and have spent the last two entire days reading Charlie's essays.I am thrilled to have found a site belonging to a true American Patriot who is not afraid to speak out on behalf of his fellow Americans.I believe as Charlie does that in order for America to get back on the right path, it has to re-start following God's plan. Thanks for a lifetime of the best fiddle music, and for this site Charlie. You can be sure I will abide by the rules.

Thanks for being a great American and telling it like it is, and also putting out great music. GOD BLESS AMERICA. The land of the free, and the home of the brave.

Wow! This isn't the same website I logged out of last night. I don't know what you did or how you did it, but it's gorgeous! It's much more attractive and a lot easier to read. Thanks for dazzlin' it up.:D
