Heisman Trophy Winner Could Have Been a Victim of Abortion Yes, That's another reason, besides being an outspoken Christian, that he's hated by the left.
The Superbowl Ad that had the lefties in an uproar, without even having seen it, was about their story.

"If Democrats truly believe Bush spent too much, then shouldn't they cooperate to bring spending under control rather than use Bush's spending as an excuse to up the ante? ... If Democrats had any concern about spending, they wouldn't have crammed through Obamacare, which will increase the federal health care budget obscenely. If they had the slightest concern about our upside-down national balance sheet, they wouldn't have spent $900 billion in a worthless, corrupt, ineffectual 'stimulus' program and be clamoring for another one. They wouldn't urinate federal money into dead-end green projects, such as Solyndra. They wouldn't have desperately tried to pass a monumentally wasteful cap-and-trade bill that wouldn't have made a dent in global temperature in a hundred years, even if you blindly accept all the superstitious nonsense the environmentalists propagate. Seriously, people, let Democrats and Obama defenders obfuscate all they want, but have you seen the charts? Have you noticed the dramatic acceleration in spending and deficits since Obama took office? ... We have to get about the business of cutting spending and reforming entitlements now because every year we wait, our problems are compounded and become that much more difficult to reverse." --columnist David Limbaugh

It's a sign of things to come Herb. In a few years the government is going to do away with old fashioned money and make everything electronic. They'll claim that they're doing it because they'll be able to get rid of all crime that involves money (in other words, more than half the crime in today's society). They'll also say that a wanted criminal won't be able to buy or sell anything without being monitored and caught. They'll also claim that they want to track terrorists better.
Their intentions aren't so honorable. They want to tax everything you do, including selling junk at yard sales (or anywhere else for that matter). They also want to be able to watch every move you make. Big Brother wants to know everything you do. With their new system they'll know it if you buy a box of shotgun shells or buy a magazine that isn't politically correct. You won't be able to buy bubble gum without there being a record of it long after you're dead.
I predict they're going to use vein recognition technology to pull this off. I recently saw a story on the news that a public school in Florida is already scanning palms to buy lunches....and since the Bible says the mark will be on your hand, that fits perfectly into prophecy.

Government control is a major problem with the income tax. The government has no right or good reason to know how much money I earn.
I think that the income tax was put in place to help control people. Keep in mind that it was income tax evasion that brought down Al Capone.

Call your elected officials. Tell them you are their constituent, and you oppose SOPA and PIPA.
Why? SOPA and PIPA would put the burden on website owners to police user-contributed material and call for the unnecessary blocking of entire sites. Small sites won't have sufficient resources to defend themselves. Big media companies may seek to cut off funding sources for their foreign competitors, even if copyright isn't being infringed. Foreign sites will be blacklisted, which means they won't show up in major search engines. SOPA and PIPA would build a framework for future restrictions and suppression.
In a world in which politicians regulate the Internet based on the influence of big money, Wikipedia — and sites like it — cannot survive.
Congress says it's trying to protect the rights of copyright owners, but the "cure" that SOPA and PIPA represent is worse than the disease. SOPA and PIPA are not the answer: they would fatally damage the free and open Internet.
Make the greatest impact by calling your Congressional Representative today. Hundreds of thousands of people are reaching out — email forms for your Representative may be broken.

Denver appeals court upholds military impostor law
DENVER (AP) - The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Friday that a federal law making it illegal to lie about being a war hero is constitutional and making false statements is not always protected free speech.
The ruling by a three-judge panel of the Denver-based court reverses a district judge's decision that the Stolen Valor Act violates the First Amendment.

" suppose most of you have heard about the policy recently introduced in Washington, D.C., mandating that exterminators treat rats as if they were an endangered species, and transport them painlessly to a different location. When I first heard the news, I threw my hat in the air and hollered 'Hurrah!' The letdown came a few minutes later when I found out they were talking about actual four-legged rodents and not Harry Reid and his cronies in Congress. Although it is difficult to understand why D.C. politicians would create such a goofy program, I suspect the answer lies in the old joke about the reason that sharks never attack lawyers swimming in the ocean; namely, professional courtesy." --columnist Burt Prelutsky

Police, along with the U.S. Department of Defense, are researching new technology in a scanner placed on police vehicles that can detect concealed weapons.
"You could use it at a specific event. You could use it at a shooting-prone location," NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly told CBS 2's Hazel Sanchez on Tuesday.
It's called Terahertz Imaging Detection. It measures the energy radiating from a body up to 16 feet away, and can detect anything blocking it, like a gun.
"I think it's good. People will be safer and it will be a safer environment," Jessica Ramos said.
"I think it's all about invading people's lives more and more and more," Antonio Gabriel added.
Police Commissioner Kelly said the scanner would only be used in reasonably suspicious circumstances and could cut down on the number of stop-and-frisks on the street.
But according to the article, even civil liberties groups known for ignoring the Second Amendment are raising a red flag.
The New York Civil Liberties Union's Donna Lieberman is quoted as saying that "it's worrisome. It implicates privacy, the right to walk down the street without being subjected to a virtual pat-down by the Police Department when you're doing nothing wrong."

Take a look at this video called "Lunch Scholars" if you want to see what the future of America looks like. A reporter asked high schools teens a variety of questions, and the answers were stunning. How many states are there in the U.S.? 51? Who is the vice president of the United States? That Clinton guy? Or is it bin Laden? And one of my favorites: How many countries border the United States? There are too many to name. See for yourself...
Rep. Black Introduces Immigration Bill Targeting Obama Administration's Lawsuits
Representative Diane Black (R-Tenn.) introduced H.R. 3842, a bill that would stop the Department of Justice and the Obama Administration from pursuing lawsuits against Arizona, South Carolina and Alabama over their state immigration enforcement laws.
Congressman: No pay for no spending plan
'Completely unacceptable the last time a budget was passed was over 1,000 days ago'
Now, one U.S. congressman is proposing that members of Congress not receive a paycheck until they do their job and pass a budget.
Called the “Budget or Bust” Act, Georgia Congressman Paul Broun’s recently submitted bill demands just that. No budget, no paycheck for Congress.
HR 3883 would remove the president from the budget process, which is what Broun says the country’s Founders intended anyway.

It does say, 'Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god, for he shall magnify himself above all.' Daniel 11:37; KJV
A master computer with artifical intelligence that had a lot of control over the global economy wouldn't have sexual feelings. It would also have no regard for God. The term "magnify himself" is subject to interpretation. It could mean that it grows in power because it has the ability to do so on its own. I just want to repeat that I think the Antichrist will be human but since prophecy isn't clear, we should consider a super computer with human qualities unless we can find a scripture that CLEARLY says it is man, made with flesh and blood.
JDF, in order to stay on topic, I'll respond to this over in the Odds and Ends thread. See you there....
This isn't about whether the AC is a flesh and blood man, but rather, why the texts about the AC don't support 'it' being a computer. Remember the verse B_B quoted? It refers to "HE" will be 'this that and the other,' not "IT." A computer would be an "IT." All such Scriptures use the term "HE" for the AC. The word, "himself" is also used rather than "itself." This person is called the ANTIchrist. He is against Christ, and at the same time trying to usurp Christ's place. Both characteristics fall under the prefix 'anti.' That means a willfull choice has been made to to oppose Christ and exalt himself above Him. The will is involved in that kind of a decision, and machines and computers do not have wills/souls. Even with artificial intelligence, the computer can only learn from what it's been fed..."garbage in, garbage out." The computer has no soul with which to make a decision where the will is involved.
If the AC is a computer, why take up space on the page telling us 'it' won't regard God, women, etc.? Those are things that involve real flesh and blood men. It wouldn't even enter the picture if the Scriptures were referring to a machine. Again, why would God spend His time telling us stuff that has no bearing on the situation?
Magnifying isn't open to interpretation. It's a simple, straightforward word with a finite number of definitions. God had the Bible written to man so we could know certain things and not be having to rip our hair out trying to understand it. So the text is saying the AC will exaggerate his own importance and place himself above everybody and everything, to the extent that he'll even claim he's God. Another word to describe all that would be OBAMA. Just picture how he struts about like a peacock, looking down his nose at the rest of us, and you've got a pretty good word picture of someone magnifying himself above everyone else. But again, that kind of behavior is self-glorification which comes from pride and arrogance. Computers are not capable of such vanity because they are merely inanimate objects, housing lots of parts, but no souls. So, that's my case against the computer.

I think the Anti-Christ is going to be a flesh and blood man. As Vicki said, the Bible refers to the Anti-Christ as" him, he, his", not an "it". The Anti-Christ, the Beast, and the False Prophet make up an un-holy trinity. Satan always tries to imitate God. But his is always an evil, perverted imitation.

Thanks for putting so much thought into this subject Vicki. Like I said I believe it will be a flesh and blood man but I'm still going to be vigiliant by looking at artificial intelligence. With what I've seen of technology in my lifetime I'm not going to underestimate what it might do in the future. I've seen stuff on how computers and humans interact and what they plan on doing in the future and I'm convinced that humans and tiny computers are going to be physically connected together and our brains will interact with them in ways we can't imagine now. We all know people who practically have their smart phone glued to their ear. That's just the start of it. Us older folks will fight the new human/computer connections but younger folks will embrace it. They'll do anything to be connected to the World Wide Web.

Obama Administration may have leaked Classified bin Laden information to Hollywood Director
Academy Award-winning director of the military film "The Hurt Locker", Kathryn Bigelow is making a film titled "Killing bin Laden".
Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. Dept of Defense and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to obtain documents regarding meetings between government agencies and Bigelow.
"It is alleged that Bigelow in preparation for the script for the movie about the killing of Osama bin Laden - received classified information regarding his death."
The movie is scheduled to open on Oct. 12, 2012.
This wouldn't have anything to do with boosting poll numbers of a slumping presidential campaign, now would it?
Never happen! Why would anyone ever think that?

A good example of that is how quickly younger people took to using drive-thru banking and ATM's. Many young people have entered a bank only once in their lives when they opened a checking account. These days when you walk in it looks more like a single's club for senior citizens than a bank lobby.

That's a good point. As I've said before I think they're going to eliminate tangible money someday. To add to that thought, that means we won't even have ATM's. There's already a lot of people who never even touch money. We're being sucked into computers deeper and deeper and I don't think it's going to be too many more years before we can't buy or sell anything without some kind of electronic "mark of the Beast". When it comes to not buying groceries or accepting the mark most people will chose groceries. Not me.

I was not aware that we already know what killed Whitney Houston. Last I heard, the family asked the coroner to wait another 24 hours at least before 'possibly' releasing that information. The drug angle is as yet, unsubstantiated.
As Linda pointed out, FOX news made a big deal out of it. FOX NEWS; they chose to make it important. We didn't ask them to do so. Most of us know there's a big difference between a soldier or police officer givng his life for us and a talented person who squanders their gift and dies early because of lifestyle choices. But we did not cease to celebrate Christmas all these years the soldiers were in Iraq & Afghanistan. We went on with our lives and our merriment, as well as, taking time out to pray for their safety and soon return. So I don't see any problem with the press telling us about the death of a perhaps over-rated celebrity. They never miss an opportunity to cash in on and make a circus out of a family's personal sorrow. As for the public's reaction, well, they worship celebrities, and that's unlikely to ever change.

While I am saddened by this death, I really don't care how she died. What does bother me is the massive wailing and gnashing of teeth, in the media, over this person that has not done anything for society.
I know of very little she has done but throw away all that she had going for her.
Well, I guess you could say that her big accomplishment in life is to be a really great bad example.

Even if the actual cause isn't a drug OD, after years of abusing the body with drugs and alcohol it would be no suprise for the cause of death to be a heart attack or stroke.

Just another sad example of what the Hollywierd lifestyle is all about. The woman's death is unfortunate but, I don't see why everyone seems so surprised. She has been in and out of rehabs for years. Personally, I am already sick of the news coverage, it's Michael Jackson all over again. Americans put to much importance in the lives of Hollywood celebs. No one is happy about her death but, it shouldn't get 24/7 news coverage.

Man left to his own ways will usually play the fool. I'm glad we are not given up on because of that. "But for the grace of God, there goes me..."You're right. We don't have the autopsy report yet, but given the way she lived her life will anybody really be surprised if she overdosed? I'd be surprised if she didn't. I'm not taking any joy from her death. It's sad all the way around, but I don't think she should be touted as some great person either. I think we should use her as another example to young people of just how destructive drugs are.
We all know that saying the press lives by, "If it bleeds, it leads." The pressroom sharks were swarming around her bath water the moment word reached them. There may not have been any blood, but we can be sure they were there because her lifestyle was such that we'd all assume she died of an overdose. And that's good for their ratings. No one should feel guilty for thinking it since her frailties were public knowledge and that's exactly what the press is working so hard to make us believe. But I think the public should wait for the report before stating unequivocably that it was drugs-related. Herb is right; you can't live hard like that without causing a lot of damage to your body over the years. But I'm not willing to give the press the satisfaction of accepting their blowhard hints and theories. They exist to give us information--facts and figures--not tell us what to think about those facts and figures. I know the press have moved over into one of the handful of occupations where the members think they are gods, but they don't sign our paychecks or tuck us in at night, so they need to rethink their own importance in our lives.
Linda is right about this being a good example to younger people about the destructiveness of drugs. That aside, N. California had a 5.3 today--north of LL's stomping grounds. I'm betting it isn't a huge, leading story across the nation since there weren't all kinds of fatalities. It didn't bleed so it didn't lead. When John Denver died in a plane crash we heard very little about it even though the singer was a household name. Birds flying into the engine of a homemade plane by a celebrity who was rumored to keep his nose clean and avoid publicity just didn't make the ratings cut. Seems like ever since news became a 24/7 proposition, the quality and choice of fare presented have gone to the dogs. GB is right about HollyWeird and the fans, but I also blame news networks for filling the waves with round-the-clock, utterly mindless gobbligook that holds no relevance in our lives. They need to cast off their crowns, climb down from their thrones, and try working real jobs like their viewers do. That little dose of reality might wake them up to the fact that their viewers are not dumbells who need to be talked down to, nor are they groupies of mind-numbingly boring and unimportant singers and movie stars. Give us a break!

A Christian student in a public high school in Colorado has quit the choir due to their selection of a Islamic song to be performed.
Via News Channel 5: A Grand Junction High School student wants a song picked for the after-school men's choir group pulled, because he says the Islamic piece is not appropriate for a public school choir. The song is called "Zikr," and its composer says is not intended for a worship ceremony.
For senior James Harper, a Christian who is active in his local church, the wording and meaning of the song is such that he feels it should not be performed by students in a public school setting.

Even if it is shown that drugs/alcohol were not involved, the fact she abused them will be remembered.
On top of that, because her drug and alcohol abuse are well documented, there will always be some that will believe that the "proof" she wasn't using, is fake.

I feel bad for Whitney Houston's family, friends and fans but I'm really getting sick of all this media coverage. We're on the brink of WWIII, this is the most important election year in America's history and the global economy is still in grave danger. Yet, for the last week she is still getting all the headlines. No wonder the lamestream media is losing viewers. They're clueless.

Jesse Duke Fan, There is a price to pay for the all the Fame and Fortune, and Whitney Houston is paying for it now. Sad to say.

There is a major push on right now to wrest control on the internet from it's current public domain, and place it under "international control" (read 'censorship'). This current assault starts Feb. 27th, 6 days from today.
On Feb. 27th, a diplomatic process will begin in Geneva that could result in a new treaty (by years end) giving the UN unprecedented powers over the internet.
The goal being to establish "international control over the internet" through the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a treaty-based organization under UN auspices.

Anything they can think up to "control" the Internet will be quickly hacked and circumvented by the hacker community. Just ask Apple about their attempts to keep people from jailbreaking their devices.

But Ga, what about computer nitwits like me who can't operate these things well on a good day? Will people like me be able to figure out how to break in?
Now if this doesn't beat all, I don't know what does. GA Dems want to regulate vasectomies soley on the basis that it isn't fair for women to have regulations regarding reproduction (read, they're pro-abortion), while men can have vasectomies with no governmental 'interference' or laws preventing them. What are they, 5 year olds running that state..."That's not fair, I'm gonna go tell my mama."

There is nothing that the the big government crowd, both dems and gop, don't want to regulate. From barbers and dressers to dog groomers and zoo keepers. Not to mention our very thoughts and speech.
When the contraceptive/abortion issue came out I made comments that the religious issue was really minor, when compared to the fact that if the government is allowed to dictate what employers and insurers have to provide, it is just a short jump to saying we have to use it.
Keep in mind that they are equating pregnancy to a disease. If they have to offer disease prevention, is it that huge of a leap to say we have to use it?
Now you might say, well, it is just the porn industry. But the precident being set is a really slippery slope.
The reason they want to enforce it is disease prevention. Isn't that the same reason the people at BOCare want to have it available???
Does anyone here think that Ron Paul would have allowed, and suported the contraceptive/abortion being required nonsense?

Problem is, all 3 of them have a history of being big government supporters, and I can't trust them. They may be against BO's idea of big government, not real sure of that with all of them. However, they still believe in big government, just their version of big governement.
Ron Paul has EXACTLY the opposite history, I can believe him when he talks about cutting the size, scope and cost of the government.

Watch this video of a CIA whistleblower and congressional testimony about a gun that fires a virtually undetectable dart that "melts" after it hits it's target, making it appear that the victim suffered a heart attack.
Did the CIA use this on Andrew Breitbart because he said that he had videos of Obama's college days?

Didn't want to start a new thread, so I'm posting a question here. How many shop at JCPenny? I used to some(I'm not a shopper, trying on clothes is a form of torture for me, I'd almost rather be shot, but, on with the post). First, they have Ellen the weirdo Degeneres as their spokes person, and I was looking at clothes and not sure how long this particular brand has been carried by them, but it's One World, and their's Unity World also. I find that strange, and not sure I want to purchase this, sad thing is they look cute(at least online). The whold "One World" thing to me reminds me of how Obama and libs and other nations are pushing for One World EVERYTHING. Any thoughts?

Yes...buy what you want. Who's the boss here?...you or some inanimate objects like clothing? Again, who's the boss here...you or a couple companies that may or may not have picked their names deliberately...or was it perhaps, unwittingly? They may have just thought the names sounded young, cool, and trendy? I am NOT a dominionist, so this is meant to be understood exactly how it was intended when it was written----Man has dominion in the Earth, so why let some clothing reduce you to a servant? It's just clothing, and you are the boss here, not the clothing or the companies that produce them. If you want them, buy them--take charge of your life. You've proven over the years that you have taken charge of yourself repeatedly in order to rise above your circumstances---don't stop now, PM4. Stimulate the slumping economy some--buy the cute clothes that you don't have to bother going into a store to try on! We aren't talking here about eating food that you know has been sacrificed to idols.

Vicki530 thanks, the whole One World thing just kind of made me go, 'huh?" Then was like, that's great, the clothes that are cute are some brand that's promoting One World. lol, sometimes I think too hard on stuff.
As for stimulating the economy, I have 3 growing kids, between food, clothes, shoes, stuff, MY economy needs stimulating, need to go ask for a raise.

Racist? Texas high school apologizes for fans' 'USA!' chant after basketball game
By msnbc.com staff
A Texas school district has apologized for what some perceived as a racist chant from fans after one of its teams beat a rival in a high school basketball playoff game.
Alamo Heights High School, which is made up mostly of white students, beat Edison High, which is predominantly Hispanic, in the Region IV-4A championship in San Antonio on Saturday. As Alamo players celebrated the win on the court, a large group of students began cheering “USA! USA!”

Instead of saying that this "church" shouldn't have a tax exemption our ultra left-wing Christian hating politicians will push to take the tax exemptions away from all the real churches instead.

Actually it is a pretty good article on the bizarre "churches". It is not just about the "church of sex" but about many other sects that have twisted views of what the Bible says.

JDF, actually there'd probably be little outcry. You'd be surprised at what kind of oddball, occult, and perverted groups already have tax-exempt status under the guise of being a 'church.' Driscoll has been around for quite sometime and there's been no move to stop him. He's just going with a more open, blunt name that defines what he's really about. Driscoll doesn't just teach this obnoxious garbage, he talks filthy much of the time. He's on record using vulgar slang words for the various 'things,' and he's paid handsomely by his loyal followers to do so. It's guys like Driscoll who fuel the opposition's drive to rescind tax exemption status to churches. Articles like this one are hard because you need to read them to be informed about current so-called church trends but doing so makes your stomach churn. I still haven't regained my appetite.

"Last month, at a Raeford, N.C., elementary school, a teacher confiscated the lunch of a 5-year-old girl because it didn't meet U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines and therefore was deemed nonnutritious. ... But whether her lunch was nutritious or not is not the issue. The issue is governmental usurpation of parental authority. In a number of states, pregnant teenage girls may be given abortions without the notification or the permission of parents. The issue is neither abortion nor whether a pregnant teenager should have an abortion. The issue is this: What gives the government the authority to usurp parental authority? Part of the problem is that people who act as instruments of government do not pay a personal price for usurping parental authority. The reason is Americans, unlike Americans of yesteryear, have become timid and, as such, come to accept all manner of intrusive governmental acts. Can you imagine what a rugged American, such as one portrayed by John Wayne, would have done to a government tyrant who confiscated his daughter's lunch or facilitated her abortion without his permission? ... Americans have become compliant in nation-crippling ways." --economist Walter E. Williams

The concerns of liberals over voter-I.D. laws are political posturing
Right now, millions of adult Americans cannot legally fly on an airplane or rent a car. They’re not allowed to drive one, either. And if they really need to get somewhere fast, they can’t use Amtrak. When they (somehow) get there, they can’t stay at a hotel. If they don’t have a social security card, they cannot get one without considerable time and effort. In most cases they cannot rent an apartment, take the SAT or enroll in college. They can’t buy cigarettes or alcohol, even though they are of legal age. They might be able to get credit cards, but in many instances they will not be able to use them. And they almost certainly won’t be able to get a bank account or a business license or even cash a check.
Virtually 100 percent of these outcasts from mainstream society fit into one or more of the following categories: very old, very young, very poor, minorities or the disabled.
And yet the Democratic Party wants to do next to do nothing to fix that.
I’m talking, of course, about people without proper identification.

Faith & Family
"A new generation of ethicists has begun making the case in favor of so-called 'after birth abortion.' Like Princeton's Peter Singer, they believe that infants are not 'persons' entitled to the right to life. Why? Because infants, while human, are not 'self-aware.' And these ethicists assert that human beings who lack self-awareness are not 'persons' and, if they are not persons, then they have no independent moral status, no automatic right to life, and no claim to the protections of law. The question of whether a newborn child would be allowed to live or die, the 'ethicists' argue, would depend solely on the wishes of their parents. The same reasons that might 'justify' an abortion at three months gestation would justify an 'after-birth abortion' -- i.e., the parents can kill a child who is inconvenient, disabled, the 'wrong' gender, or simply unwanted. This new thinking shreds the quality-of-life façade that's often used to justify the abortion of a handicapped child: the only 'quality of life' that matters here is that of the parents. ... This is our future: an infant's claim on life will be no greater than that of a pre-born child -- non-existent. More precisely, this is our future unless we fight back-loudly." --columnist Rebecca Hagelin
